SE1: Listening to the Body
Pre-requisite: BE3 or equivalent training
This class offers an expanding paradigm to craniosacral study based on work evolving from all of the
founders of craniosacral therapy. Their notion is that the body has an inner consciousness, an inner
wisdom, that is one aspect of the body’s ability to heal itself.
With our previous classes BE1, BE2 and BE3 and structural awareness gained, we now can add the
energetic, inner consciousness and somato-emotional dimensions of disease, illness, healing and
recovery.
Topics explored will include therapeutic presence, energetic phenomena related to the body, how
emotions are held in the body and how to evaluate their impact to the neurological and physiological
systems. Through special exercises the attending student will cultivate a therapeutic presence and the
ability to use that presence, as well as all of the previously learned palpation and manual skills, to
support and facilitate the biological process of change and healing.
