The Association of New Brunswick Massage Therapists Inc. (ANBMT) has been incorporated since 1994 as an organization representing massage therapists in this province. The ANBMT has a constitution, code of ethics and bylaws that establish the scope of practice, ethical considerations for members, and an elected Board. The ANBMT has been the fastest growing massage therapy association in New Brunswick partly due to the commitment of its volunteers and members. The elected board is constantly developing new programs to help advocate massage therapy in New Brunswick. Here are a few recent highlights:

  • Establishing a massage therapy school visit program to provide assistance to students who are interested in becoming members  
  • A major role in legislation development and collaborative ventures to increase the credibility of our profession
  • Job directory
  • Mentor Program
  • Participating in Massage Therapy Awareness Week
  • Hosting and organizing an annual conference with various continuing education courses and resources
  • Developing a referral site for people interested in locating a massage therapist in their area
  • A yearly subsidized and sponsored course calendar to help our members receive further training and continuous education units

Bill 25, An Act to Incorporate the College of Massage Therapists of New Brunswick, received royal assent on December 13, 2013. As such, the profession of massage therapy is regulated in the province by the College of Massage Therapists of New Brunswick (CMTNB).
